Tombstome of Immensity, at its very first stage, was a flat drawing of a fibbonacci series based on the golden cut like known since ancient times. This old scheme was later elevated into the 3rd dimension. Then I connected every edge of each part with the corresponding edge of its bigger and, then, its smaller brother. The form was then streamlined to a mimimal organic shape, from which an identically shaped block was extrapolated, capable to connect to itself above and underneath. It became the building block of the infinity sculpture, later called Tombstone of Immensity. One generation downwards the block doubles its volume. One generation upwards it halfs its volume. Similar growth schemes according to fibbonacci series can be found in nature, e.g. in the shapes of sea shells etc…
Later by playing around I found a number of interesting ways to arrange the blocks.
In this more “monumental” movie below I tried to show the incredibly acceleration of logarythmic growth of the entire concept. The smallest tip at the end of the “Tombstone” has the same shape then its bombastic base.
